Yard of the Season: Summer 2017

The Yard of the Season for Summer is:

11115 Paddock Circle

Built in 1962 this diamond in the rough was transformed over several years of experimentation and good ole “trial and error!” Facing west, the plantings are a variety of interesting color and texture of foliage for a dramatic effect. The elephant ears are among the homeowner’s favorite. Pops of color from well placed annuals and perennials and delightful vignettes with variety of containers and hardscape lend interest and balance. The ash tree and vitex residing in the front provide much welcome shade in the afternoon. Visitors are welcomed to a front door with colorful plants, containers and comfy bench. The parkway view is full of purple crape myrtles, decomposed granite and well placed boulders. Drive by this stunning yard to see how the fall light highlights this great landscape in Highland Meadows!

Plant list (common names): elephant ears ferns (Boston, asparagus), cast iron plant, nandina, pentas, Ornamental grasses, Potato vine, hibiscus, Sea oats, Mexican heather, rock rose, liriopie, Mexican petunia (tall and dwarf), moss rose, Salvias, Crape Myrtles, Yaupon, Fantex Ash, Japanese maples,  Vitex, Native Texas plants
